May 23, 2012 10:55 AM PDT
It's not goodbye but see you soon. After a successful run, the Naked Radio Show will no longer air on PNCRadio.fm due to the fact that our host Anslem Samuel Rocque (aka NWSO) is embarking on a new adventure beyond the boundaries of New York City. But don't fret, the Naked Radio Show will be back in some form or other in the distant future. Until then stay tuned to NakedWithSocksOn.com and @NakedWithSocks for details and regular doses of NWSO commentary and perspective.
For this extra special episode original co-host Amy "Aimstar" Andriuex makes her return to the mic after an extended hiatus. Where has she been? What has she been up to? The original goddess of the house explains, as NWSO, Chad Scott and Amack Gizzles (Amber McKynzie) take a trip down memory lane, recounting some of the show's best moments and controversial topics.
Special thanks to A-King and the rest of the PNCRadio.fm family for the opportunity to be on air each week and for sending us off in style. Again, we'll be back in the near future but for now you have this crazy episode and plenty of time to catch up on the archived podcasts.
Note: There was an error with the podcast recording so this is only the last hour of the show, but stay tuned to NakedWithSocksOn.com for the video footage and behind the scenes shots.
Divorce: When Things Fall Apart- Naked Radio Show Ep 022 [05-15-12]
May 17, 2012 08:21 PM PDT
The pinnacle of most relationships is to walk down the aisle as man and wife on your wedding day. This moment is supposed to spark the beginning of your happily ever after, but what happens when things fall apart and a once happy couple heads for divorce court? To get insight on the realities of divorce and how love turns to hate, we sat down with Khareen, a divorcee who got married early, had a baby, cheated when her husband stopped giving her the affection she needed and decided enough was enough and filed for divorce. While her experience was unique in that she viewed marriage more as a business transaction, Khareen's story is as real as it gets as she pulls no punches and clears the air on what it's like to date after a divorce. Also, we tackle a Dear NWSO letter from a woman who was cheated on by her boyfriend who wound up sleeping with a minor and we discuss the problem women who focus on a wedding ring more than a marriage.MILF'n Ain't Easy: Single Mothers, Spanking & Cheddar Biscuits -Naked Radio Show Ep 021 [5/8/12]
May 09, 2012 06:40 PM PDT
There's no greater bond than the one between mother and child. Traditionally the primary caretaker, mothers serve as your first and most important relationship and Mother's Day is the annual moment when children all over pay homage to the woman who gave them life. Still, single mothers oftentimes get a bad wrap. Some men choose not to date them because of their "baggage" and in instances where the child's father has gone AWOL, she's let to play both mother and father. To help us speak on the realities of being a young single mom on the dating scene we put stylist, actress and mother to two beautiful kids Weyni Elder of Weyni Style & Fancies to share her story. During the course of the conversation we touch on dating woes and wins, spanking versus beating your child, when a parent should have the dreaded birds and bees conversation, how to raise a child with someone you're no longer with, the perks of being a MILF and the legend of Red Lobster's cheddar cheese biscuits. Also, we dig into the record breaking summer blockbuster, The Avengers, and tackle a Dear NWSO letter from a woman who slept with a man too soon only to bolt out of the room right after and then wonders why he no longer wants to sleep with her. Tune in and enjoy. Can You Love Someone in Sickness & in Health? Naked Radio Show Ep. 20 [5/01/12]
May 02, 2012 08:00 PM PDT
It's not often that people think about their wedding vows, but part of the promise that a married couple makes to one another is to love their partner in sickness and in health. However, the realities of living up to that is not something many people thing about—especially for someone who is just dating. In this episode we explore how far someone will go for love when their partner gets sick or is dealing with a serious medical condition. Singer/poet/actress Shanelle Gabriel steps into the hot seat to share her struggles with lupus and how the disease has not only impacted her health but her dating life since being diagnosed. It's a real conversation that will have many questioning themselves and the depths of their partner's love. Also, we have a Dear NWSO letter from a woman who agreed to have group sex with her boyfriend only to regret the act as soon as it was over. Plus, as an added bonus Ms. Gabriel treats us to an a capella song at the end of the show.Should Women Wait 90 Days to Have Sex? - Naked Radio Show Ep. 19 [04/24/12]
April 25, 2012 09:43 PM PDT
After Think Like a Man pulled in over $30 million at the box office in its opening weekend, it's only right that we dissect the chapters of Steve Harvey's best-selling book turned blockbuster movie. Namely, we tackle the 90-day rule that instructs women to wait at least 90 days before sleeping with a man for the first time to determine whether or not he likes her or what's between her legs. Along with an official NWSO review of the film, we tackle other related topics like how men deal with rejection and how much money a single man wastes on dating. After tackling a Dear NWSO from a woman who questions whether the father of her three kids will ever want more than just sex from her, we dig into the lack of real privacy in a world dominated by social media and how Deion and Pilar Sanders' marriage led to domestic violence. It's a mixed bag of good conversation. What Are the Realities of Rape? - Naked Radio Show Ep. 018 [4/17/12]
April 18, 2012 06:34 PM PDT
We live in a world where women are faced with constant hurdles but none are more troubling than the possibility of being sexually assaulted or raped. While many are afraid to discuss the realities of these acts of violence against women, recent headlines where women find themselves face to face with a rapist or susceptible to random gropings and assaults opens the door for a much-needed discussion. In an effort to open dialogue about the realities of what it means to be a woman in an oversexed society, we sit down with two women who bravely share their stories of rape and sexual assault. This is not a sob story but a story of survival and living with the emotional scars of rape. Also, we tackle a Dear NWSO letter from a woman who got dumped by her fiance a week after having his baby only to have him marry another woman and ask her for the engagement ring back. Tune in for real talk at its finest.Inside the Mind of a Single Black Male - Naked Radio Show Ep. 017 [04/10/12]

April 04, 2012 08:34 PM PDT
The statistics are scary, especially within communities of color. HIV/AIDS is a virus that has ravaged our community and claimed millions of lives in the process, still many people are unaware and uninformed about the realities of HIV/AIDS. To help correct that and impart knowledge on the people, the Naked Radio Show crew invited Verneda White of Human Intonation, an apparel line with a social message and charitable goal, and HIV/AIDS activist Maria Davis, who has been living with the virus for over 13 years. In this honest conversation, both women share their personal stories of being impacted by HIV/AIDS, what we need to do to stay protected, debunk the many myth and falasies that exist about the virus, why people need to realize that they are not Magic Johnson, and most importantly, what it's like to live with and lose someone to HIV/AIDS. It doesn't get more realer than this. Listen up and learn a thing or two that could save your life. How Do You Really Make a Relationship Work? - Naked Radio Show Ep 015 [3/27/12]

March 21, 2012 08:12 AM PDT
The murder of Florida teen Trayvon Martin by neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman has drawn national headlines and public outcry as the shooter walks free due to a stand your ground law, and the Naked Radio Show squad shares their thoughts on the incident to kick off the broadcast. From there, we tackle a Dear NWSO from a man who opens up about his heartbreak and why women oftentimes don't believe men have feelings. Then, we delve into the heart of the show with guests Jozen Cummings of UntilIGetMarried.com and journalist Demetria Irwin as we discuss the issue with interracial dating. Inspired by recent comments by Ice-T in Sister 2 Sister magazine about the "problem with Black females" is that they don't date outside their race, Jozen, who is biracial, and Demetria, a woman of color who is married to a White man, share their personal experiences and perspective. It's another deep conversation that's all about #RealTalk #RealLive.
